by Prof. Dr. Thomas Burke of Harvard University. Deployed so far in 48 countries, it has demonstrated its potential as a scalable solution for improving neonatal survival in low-resource settings.
Vayu bCPAP delivers safe, effective respiratory support for newborns and children up to 5 years. It operates without compressed air or electricity, using oxygen concentrators and cylinders, making it ideal for district hospitals, SNCUs, NBSUs, and even during transport.
As India works toward its SDG goal of reducing neonatal and child mortality, technologies like Vayu bCPAP can fill critical programmatic gaps under the Facility-Based Newborn Care (FBNC) framework — ensuring that no child dies for lack of breathing support.
